Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the Election Commission for the peaceful conduct of the first two phases of the Lok Sabha polls.
PM Modi hailed the Indian electoral process as exemplary, suggesting it could serve as a model for other democracies and be studied by universities worldwide.
“Matdaan is Mahadaan (voting is a great gift). I appeal to the people to vote in large numbers,” PM Modi urged, speaking to reporters after casting his vote at a polling booth in Ahmedabad’s Ranip area, part of the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat.
PM Modi stated, “I congratulate the Election Commission for conducting the first two phases of elections almost violence-free. I also congratulate the Election Commission for conducting the polls in a voter-friendly manner.”
“People across India should celebrate this ongoing “festival of democracy” by voting in large numbers,” the PM said.
