The search was part of an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Police said they recovered “incriminating material” during the operation.

A police spokesperson stated, “Sopore Police conducted a search operation at the residence of Abdul Razak Hajam, son of Abdul Samad Hajam, in connection with FIR No. 42/2025, registered under Sections 10 and 13 of the UAPA.”

The search was done after getting a valid court warrant. “Incriminating material linked to the banned organisation was recovered and seized for further investigation,” police said.

The operation was carried out in the presence of magistrates and independent witnesses to ensure transparency and legal compliance, officials added.
