A trainee police constable, Mohammad Sareer, was killed in a shooting incident at the Manigam police training institute in Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. According to officials, the fatal shot was allegedly fired by Sentry Babu Ram, who was guarding a post at the training facility.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when Babu Ram reportedly fired upon Sareer, an under-training recruit from Boniyar in Baramulla district. Sareer succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Babu Ram has been disarmed and taken into custody for questioning. The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident
