A case of alleged mob assault has come to light from the Hussainganj area of Lucknow, where a young Muslim man was reportedly attacked while returning home from a gym. The victim’s family has accused a group of men of abusing him, making religious and caste-based remarks, and assaulting him with sticks and bricks.
According to a complaint submitted to the police, the incident took place between 10:30 pm and 11:30 pm on July 8, when Hafiz Mohammad Kaif Khan was returning home after his workout.
Family Alleges Religious Abuse and Violent Attack
According to the complaint, Kaif was stopped near his house by a group of people who allegedly abused him and made religious and caste-related remarks.
The family alleged that when Kaif objected, the accused assaulted him with fists, sticks and bricks. In an attempt to save himself, he ran into a nearby house, but the attackers allegedly followed him inside and continued beating him.
The assault reportedly left Kaif with serious head injuries. He received stitches on his head and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The family also alleged that people who tried to intervene were threatened by the attackers.
AIMIM Delegation Meets Victim’s Family
The Lucknow unit of AIMIM has extended support to the victim’s family. A delegation led by AIMIM Lucknow president Mohammad Tabish Beg visited the family, gathered details about the incident and assured them of legal assistance in pursuing justice.
The family has demanded a fair investigation, strict legal action against those responsible, justice for the victim and adequate security for the family.
Police Register Case, Investigation Underway
Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
According to the victim’s family, none of the accused have been arrested so far, leading to fear and anxiety among family members. Police said the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken based on the findings.
