A private tuition teacher in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf City area has been arrested for allegedly raping his 13-year-old Dalit student multiple times over nearly three weeks. The accused, identified as Veer Singh Yadav, reportedly exploited his access to the minor’s home to carry out the abuse between January 22 and February 12, 2026.
How the Crime Unfolded
The victim, a Class 9 student, lived with her family near Gomti Enclave in Lucknow. Her parents, originally from Bijnor district, are both government employees. The family had engaged Veer Singh Yadav as a home tutor for their daughter, placing their trust in him to provide education within the safety of their own home.
According to the First Information Report filed by the family, the accused used his regular visits to the residence to allegedly threaten and assault the minor on repeated occasions. The abuse continued for nearly three weeks before the girl became pregnant as a result of the assaults.
The Accused’s Attempt to Hide the Crime
When the minor became pregnant, the accused allegedly took matters into his own hands rather than seeking proper medical care. Police records indicate that Yadav administered medicines to the girl to covertly induce an abortion, attempting to destroy evidence of his crimes and avoid detection.

The entire scheme began to unravel when the girl’s health deteriorated significantly following the illegal abortion procedure. It was only when her physical condition worsened that she mustered the courage to confide in her mother about the horrific ordeal she had been enduring.
Police Action and Arrest
The mother filed a formal complaint on February 21, setting the wheels of justice in motion. Deputy Commissioner of Police Nipun Agarwal took immediate cognizance of the matter and directed swift action from his team.
Acting on these instructions, police arrested Veer Singh Yadav within 48 hours on February 23. He has been sent to judicial custody as investigations continue.
A case has been registered against the accused under multiple legal provisions, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The SC/ST Act has been invoked as the victim belongs to the Dalit community.
A Pattern of Concern in Private Tutoring
This case emerges against the backdrop of a troubling pattern in Uttar Pradesh, where private tutors have been increasingly implicated in crimes against students. In a related instance from the same city, a Lucknow court in February 2026 sentenced a teacher named Manish Pandey to life imprisonment for a similar crime committed in 2023. In that case, Pandey had raped a Class 9 student and used a recording to blackmail her into repeated assaults.
The Survivor’s Courage
Despite enduring physical pain, months of alleged intimidation, and the trauma of a forced abortion, the 13-year-old survivor ultimately found the strength to speak out about her ordeal. Her disclosure to her mother came at great personal cost but finally triggered the legal response that led to the accused’s arrest.
