A 24-year-old woman, Fatima Khan, was detained in Ulhasnagar, Thane, Mumbai, for allegedly sending death threats to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. According to the police, Khan, who has a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, is believed to be mentally unstable.

“The woman is well qualified but is mentally unstable,” the police said.

The threat against Adityanath was reported on Saturday, November 2, when Mumbai Police’s Traffic Control Cell received a call from an unknown number. The caller warned that Adityanath would face the same fate as the recently assassinated NCP leader Baba Siddique unless he resigned within 10 days.

Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and leader in Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction, was shot dead on October 12 by three assailants suspected to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The incident has heightened security concerns, especially in light of the recent threats.

Police are currently investigating the incident and assessing the mental health of Khan as part of their inquiry.
