A young man named Aman Khan was arrested in Agra’s Etmaduddaula area after he waved a Palestinian flag during a Muharram procession. The video of the incident went viral on social media, which led the police to take quick action.

According to the police, Aman was seen waving the Palestinian flag at Ghat Tiraha in Nagla Fatoori. After watching the video, the police identified him and arrested him on Monday morning.

“Aman Khan has been booked under charges of disturbing public peace. He admitted his mistake and apologised with folded hands when we brought him to the police station,” said an officer from Etmaduddaula police station.

Police said that Aman tried to burn the flag after realising that he might get into trouble. He was presented in court and later sent to jail.

The video had been posted from a Facebook account named Aman Khan. It showed the procession with the flag and the words “Muharram Agra 9th” written in English along with an edited image of the Palestinian flag. Police have now removed the video from his Facebook account.

Speaking to the police, Aman said, “I didn’t mean to create any problem. I didn’t know it would be such a big issue. I’m sorry for my action.”
