Millat Times Celebrates 10 Years with Media Conclave

Millat Times celebrated its 10th anniversary by organising a day-long media conclave at the India Islamic Cultural Centre in New Delhi, bringing together political leaders, journalists, academicians, legal experts, and members of civil society. The event began in the afternoon with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Faizul Bari, followed by remarks from Millat Times Founder and Editor Shams Tabrez Qasmi. Qasmi reflected on the media house’s journey, saying, “Millat Times has completed ten years, and we chose to celebrate this milestone by organising a media conclave. What began as an individual initiative with an Urdu website has, over the past decade, grown into a multilingual platform with a wide and active social media presence. We are now preparing to expand our operations, grow in professionalism, improve quality, and produce powerful stories. Our focus will be on establishing reporters in towns and cities across the country, strengthening ground reporting, and emerging as a strong national voice.”

The event, anchored by Reshma Farooqi of DD News, included a keynote address by Prof. Akhtarul Wasey, who praised Millat Times for emerging as a credible voice in Indian media. A series of discussions and panel sessions followed, covering topics such as democracy, governance, constitutional values, civil rights, nationalism, federalism, and the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi spoke with Qasmi on contemporary politics and minority issues, while other sessions featured prominent figures including Mani Shankar Aiyar, Najeeb Jung, Salman Khurshid, Advocate Haris Beeran, Justice Iqbal Ansari, Yasir Jilani, Nadeem Khan, historian Ruchika Sharma, and Samajwadi Party MP Iqra Hasan Chaudhary.

The conclave also highlighted the growing role of digital and alternative media, with Maulana Burhanuddin Qasmi speaking on new media platforms, and concluded with an address by Islamic scholar Maulana Khalilur Rahman Sajjad Nomani, who urged for unity, dialogue, and collective efforts to uphold constitutional values.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Millat Times honoured individuals from across India for their contributions to journalism, education, social service, entrepreneurship, and community leadership. Awardees included Jawaid Hussain Khan, Maulana Burhanuddin Qasmi, Mohammad Akram (Abu Aimal), Maulana Mohammed Wasiullah, Akbar Khan, Mohsin Khan, Nauman Khalid, Qari Mahmood, Dr. D. Haider Vali, Alviya Karim, Shahji Sweet, Dawood Khan, Mohammad Minhaj, Maulana Lukman Dauva, Noorul Huda Ansari, Qari Mohammad Sohaib, Syed Farooq Ahmad, Hammad Rahman, and Rizwan (Rijvan). Awards were presented by MPs, ministers, and senior leaders including Iqra Hasan Chaudhary, Syed Agha Ruhullah, Imran Pratapgarhi, Najeeb Jung, Salman Khurshid, and Mani Shankar Aiyar.

The conclave marked a decade of Millat Times as an independent media platform, reaffirming its commitment to responsible journalism, democratic discourse, and amplifying voices across India.
