Students from minority communities, especially Muslim girls, have delivered an impressive performance in the Jharkhand Academic Council Intermediate (Class 12) examinations, earning top positions in the science stream and receiving praise across the state.

The results, announced on Wednesday, showed several students from diverse backgrounds securing high ranks, with girls continuing to outperform boys in multiple categories.

Rashida Naz Tops Science Stream

The biggest achievement came from Dhanbad, where Rashida Naz secured the first rank in the science stream with 489 marks. She is a student of Plus Two DAV High School.

A teacher from her school praised her dedication and discipline, saying, “Rashida has always been focused and sincere. Her success shows what students can achieve with hard work and family support.”

Her achievement has been widely appreciated in her school and district, with many calling it an inspiration for young girls.

Other Top Performers in Merit List

Faizan Alam from Patan secured second position with 483 marks. Sana Afrin from Satbarwa and Akanksha Kumari from Simaria jointly secured third rank with 481 marks each.

Education experts said the results reflect steady academic progress among students from smaller towns and economically weaker backgrounds.

A local educationist said, “These results show that students are moving ahead despite challenges. Education is becoming a strong equaliser.”

Growing Trend of Girls’ Academic Success

Teachers noted that girls have once again performed strongly in the examination, continuing a consistent trend in recent years.

An academic coordinator said, “Students need more support in the form of scholarships and career guidance so they can continue their education without barriers.”

Positive Response from Communities

Parents and community members in Dhanbad expressed happiness over the results, saying the achievements are a matter of pride for everyone.

A parent said, “These daughters are making the entire society proud. Their success shows that talent can shine even with limited resources.”

The results from Jharkhand have also been seen in the context of similar performances by Muslim students in neighbouring states. In the Bihar Board examinations earlier this year, students like Shabrin Parveen from Vaishali secured top ranks with over 97% marks.
