Muzaffarnagar: Hindu Group Protests Sale of House to Muslim Buyer, Seeks Administrative Intervention

Tension was reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday after residents of the Hindu-majority Dakshini Krishnapuri locality protested against the sale of a house to a person from the Muslim community.

A large number of local residents reached the Collectorate around 2 pm, raising slogans and submitting a memorandum addressed to the District Magistrate, demanding immediate intervention in the matter.

Protest led by ward councillor

The protest was led by ward councillor Raju, who alleged that two brothers, Arpit Jain and Ankit Jain, sold their house in Dakshini Krishnapuri Colony, located under the Khalapar police station area, to a Muslim buyer.

Raju claimed that the colony is predominantly Hindu and argued that the sale could affect the “social balance” and atmosphere of the locality.

He said local residents were concerned about maintaining peace and harmony in the area.

Residents claim issue was raised earlier

According to the protesters, this is not the first time objections were raised over the property sale.

They said the matter had earlier been discussed in a meeting of the Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, where concerns were expressed. Despite that, the house was reportedly sold.

Residents have now urged the administration to intervene, examine the property registration documents and take necessary action.

Allegations made in memorandum

In the memorandum submitted to the administration, residents also alleged that people with “criminal tendencies” frequently visited the house in question.

They claimed that similar objections had been raised earlier but were not taken seriously.

However, these allegations have not been independently verified.

Administration assures inquiry

After the protest, the memorandum was handed over to City Magistrate Pankaj Prakash Rathore in the name of the District Magistrate.

The protesters demanded a fair investigation into the matter and requested authorities to ensure peace and communal harmony in the locality.

Officials have assured that the matter will be looked into and action will be taken according to legal provisions if required.
