Muzaffarnagar Seer Urges Hindus to Oppose Muslims Joining Kanwar Yatra in Burqas or Skull Caps

A seer from Muzaffarnagar has appealed to Hindus to oppose Muslims participating in the Kanwar Yatra while wearing religious attire such as burqas or skull caps, saying those wishing to undertake the pilgrimage should instead wear saffron clothing associated with the Hindu tradition.

Mahant Yashveer Ji Maharaj of Yoga Sadhana Ashram issued the appeal in a video message during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra.

The seer said that if Muslims have faith in the Kanwar Yatra and Lord Shiva, they should participate wearing saffron clothes and, if they genuinely believe in Sanatan Dharma, they should “return home” to the faith.

He alleged that some Muslim men and women participate in the pilgrimage while wearing burqas or skull caps to gain media attention and said such participation in Islamic attire should be opposed by members of the Hindu community.

At the same time, Yashveer Ji Maharaj said he appreciated Muslims who participate in the Kanwar Yatra wearing saffron attire, describing it as an expression of reverence for the pilgrimage.

In the video, he reiterated that the Kanwar Yatra is a symbol of the traditions and faith of Sanatan Dharma and asserted that those from the Muslim community wishing to take part should do so in saffron clothing rather than attire associated with Islam.

His remarks come amid the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, during which videos of people identified on social media as Muslims or former Muslims participating in the pilgrimage have circulated online. There is no official data indicating the extent of such participation.
