Nagpur NEET Aspirant Shocked After Re-NEET Admit Card Allots Exam Centre in Abu Dhabi Instead of Maharashtra

A major error in the Re-NEET UG 2026 admit card has left a student from Nagpur and his family shocked after he was allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi instead of Maharashtra.

The incident has raised serious questions about the handling of admit cards by the National Testing Agency just days before the re-exam scheduled for June 21.

Nagpur Student Gets Abu Dhabi Centre in Admit Card

Abdullah Mohammad Talib, a NEET aspirant from Nagpur, was surprised when he downloaded his Re-NEET UG 2026 admit card and found that his exam centre was listed at an Indian school in Abu Dhabi.

The student had originally appeared for the exam at Saraswati Vidyalaya in Nagpur before the examination was cancelled due to paper leak allegations. For the rescheduled test, his family expected a centre in Maharashtra.

According to his father, the family had selected Nagpur, Wardha and Bhandara as their preferred exam centres.

Father Questions NTA Over “Technical Error”

Speaking about the issue, Abdullah’s father, Mohammad Talib, expressed frustration and confusion over the allotment.

“We don’t know how this happened. Only the agency can explain why they sent us to Abu Dhabi. We had selected Bhandara, Nagpur and Wardha. They should have given a centre in one of these districts,” he said.

He added, “We are shocked. My son started crying after seeing the admit card. He does not even have a passport. How can we send him abroad for an exam?”

Talib further alleged that such an error could have prevented his son from appearing in the examination.

“They might not want him to give the exam. That is why they gave him an Abu Dhabi centre,” he said.

NTA Admits Error, Promises Fresh Admit Card

After the family contacted the NTA helpline, officials reportedly acknowledged that the issue was caused by a technical glitch.

According to Talib, the agency asked them to send an email regarding the problem and later assured them that a corrected admit card would be issued.

“They told us over the phone that a fresh admit card would be given by Saturday evening,” he said.

The family has now demanded that Abdullah be allotted a centre in Nagpur itself, saying there is no time left for travel to another district.

Student in Distress Ahead of Re-Exam

The error has caused emotional stress for the student, who was already preparing for the re-examination after the original NEET exam was cancelled.

“My son cried a lot after seeing the admit card. He even said he didn’t want to write the exam,” Talib said. “His mother convinced him to stay calm and wait for the corrected admit card.”

The family says the uncertainty has affected Abdullah’s mental preparation just hours before one of the most important exams of his career.

Re-NEET UG 2026 Under Tight Security

The Re-NEET UG 2026 examination will be held on June 21 in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.

The NTA has said that strict security measures have been put in place for the re-exam. These include GPS-tracked transport of question papers, police escorts, CCTV surveillance, Aadhaar-based biometric verification, and real-time monitoring at centres.

More than two lakh officials, invigilators, police personnel and district authorities have been deployed across the country to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
