A 15-year-old student from Nashik has earned widespread praise after securing an outstanding score in one of India’s toughest entrance exams while also completing his religious education at a young age.
Syed Zaid Sadiq scored an impressive 99.927 percentile in JEE Main 2026 Session 2, emerging as the top scorer from his city. He is currently a student at Ashoka College.
Balanced Religious and Academic Excellence
Zaid had already memorised the Quran by the age of 15, achieving the title of Hafiz while continuing his formal education. His journey reflects a balance between religious learning and academic preparation.
According to his family, he completed his Quran memorisation alongside school studies with the help of a tutor at home, under his mother’s supervision, especially during Class 9 when time constraints made regular madrasa attendance difficult.
Strong Academic Record
Apart from his JEE performance, Zaid had earlier scored 95 percent in his Class 10 examinations. His consistency is reflected in both sessions of JEE Main, where his percentile remained above 99.
His parents, Syed Sadiq and Syed Zauqiya, played a crucial role in guiding him through his preparation and helping him maintain discipline.
Zaid comes from a family with a strong educational background. He is the grandson of Syed Sattar Ali Roshan, who was known locally for his contributions to education.
Teachers Praise Discipline and Focus
A teacher from his college highlighted his dedication, saying, “He has shown that with proper time management, students can excel in both academics and religious studies. His focus and routine were very strong.”
Eyes on JEE Advanced
Following his success, Zaid is now preparing for the next stage, aiming to clear JEE Advanced and secure admission to a top Indian Institute of Technology.
