Operation Sindoor

The NCERT is preparing a special classroom module on Operation Sindoor to help students understand India’s defence strategy and diplomatic response, sources said. The module will be divided into two parts: one for students in classes 3 to 8, and another for those in classes 9 to 12.

According to a source, the module will be about 8 to 10 pages long and will focus on India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack. “The aim is to make students understand how nations respond to terror threats and how defence, diplomacy, and coordination between ministries work together to protect the country,” the source explained.

On April 22, 26 men were killed in front of their families during a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. India responded by targeting terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan through Operation Sindoor, which led to a four-day conflict between the two countries.

A special discussion on Operation Sindoor will also take place in the Lok Sabha starting Monday, July 28, 2025, after a week of disrupted Parliament sessions. The Opposition had strongly demanded this debate on the first day of the Monsoon session.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar are expected to take part in the 16-hour debate, which may last for three days.
