Where My Freedom Lies?, a new documentary produced by Millat Times and directed by award-winning journalist Meer Faisal, will premiere on November 18 on the outlet’s official YouTube channel. The film explores the long shadow of the 2006 Mumbai train bombings, which killed more than 180 people and left hundreds injured.

The documentary tells the story of 13 men who were arrested and branded as terrorists in the aftermath of the attacks. Through their personal accounts, it exposes how they were allegedly tortured into giving false confessions and spent years behind bars before being acquitted by the courts.

The film is not only about the men who were accused but about what their ordeal says about freedom and fairness in India.

Where My Freedom Lies? delves into the emotional and psychological toll of wrongful imprisonment, showing how the accused and their families have struggled to rebuild their lives after being stigmatized as terrorists.

The film also raises larger questions about state accountability, civil rights, and the misuse of anti-terror laws. Nearly two decades after the bombings, it aims to spark a conversation about justice in a system where fear and prejudice often shape the fate of the innocent.
