Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday invoked All-India Muslim League leaders Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Mohammad Ali Jauhar while warning against forces that, he said, seek to divide India. Speaking during an ‘Ekta Yatra’ (Unity March) and collective singing of “Vande Mataram” in Gorakhpur, Adityanath said those who oppose the national song insult the country’s unity and integrity.

“Even today, we would expect that everyone living in India would be loyal to the nation and work for its unity,” Adityanath said. He added that dividing people in the name of caste, region, or language was part of a “conspiracy to create new Jinnahs.”

The chief minister urged citizens to remain alert and united. “We must ensure that no new Jinnah ever arises in India again, and if anyone dares to challenge the nation’s integrity, we must bury such divisive intent before it can take root,” he said.

Adityanath called on all citizens to stand together for the country’s unity.

Mohammad Ali Jinnah led the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan’s creation in 1947, later serving as its first governor-general. Mohammad Ali Jauhar, another prominent leader, co-founded the Muslim League and played a key role in India’s pre-independence politics.
