One-Month-Old Alisba Khan Dies After ‘Being Crushed by Police’ During Raid in Rajasthan’s Alwar

A month-old infant, Alisba Khan, succumbed to her injuries after she was allegedly crushed under the feet of a policeman during a police raid on Sunday in Rajasthan’s Alwar district.

The raid was conducted in Raghunath Ghar villages around 6:00 a.m. by Naugaon police officers who allegedly barged into the house of Imran Khan while he was asleep with his family.

The police officers claim that the raid was a part of an ongoing campaign by police to track down cyber crime frauds. However, no case was registered against Imran, nor was he named in any registered FIRs.

The bereaved mother, Razida Khan, told reporters, “When I was sleeping on the cot with my infant daughter, the policeman arrived out of nowhere, pulled me and my husband out of the room. During the raid, they stepped on my daughter’s head and killed her.”

The family alleged that the raid was carried out without prior notice and denied the allegations made by the police. Imran, who is a labourer, stated that he is not involved in any online fraud.

When the family went to file a complaint, the police officers did not respond. Following this, the enraged villagers staged a protest demanding action against the accused policemen. Finally, an FIR was registered against two officers.

The raid was carried out by head constables Girdhari, Jagveer, Sunil, Rishi, Shahid and others after the orders by SP Sanjeev Nain.

Tikaram Jully, the leader of the opposition, strongly criticized the police and said that they were “acting like terrorists” who go about and arrest innocents.
