Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had some surprising words of praise for AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday. Speaking at an event for the Old City Metro Project, Reddy commended Owaisi for his efforts in Parliament, stating, “Even he was not able to defeat him in elections.”
Reddy acknowledged Owaisi’s advocacy not just for minority communities but for all Indians, saying, “Owaisi is one of the few parliamentarians who raise their voice for all 140 crore Indians.”
Despite the Congress often criticizing AIMIM as the “B Team” of the BJP, Reddy expressed admiration for Owaisi’s electoral track record, noting, “Even I tried to defeat them during the elections, but it was not possible.”
Reddy stressed the importance of post-election collaboration for development, urging AIMIM’s support in enhancing Hyderabad’s metro rail network. In response, Owaisi assured Reddy of his party’s cooperation in the city’s development efforts.
This exchange between Reddy and Owaisi underscores the complex political landscape in Telangana, where alliances and rivalries intersect with developmental priorities.
