Prominent Palestinian journalist Saleh Al-Jafarawi has reportedly been abducted and shot dead in Gaza City, allegedly by members of a clan aligned with Israel.
Earlier, Al-Jafarawi’s colleague Ibrahim Nazmii shared a message saying, “Our colleague Saleh Al-Jafarawi has been missing for hours while covering a media event in Gaza City. There is no reliable information about his fate. Please pray for him and we ask God to keep him safe.”
Shortly afterward, news emerged that Al-Jafarawi had been found dead, reportedly shot in the Tel Al-Hawa neighbourhood.
Al-Jafarawi had previously received direct threats from Israel, part of a campaign against journalists who documented the army’s actions during the ongoing war.
Known for his strong support of the Palestinian resistance, he had spent 735 days covering the war and repeatedly refused offers to leave Gaza despite the dangers.
