On Sunday, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting his attendance at the Cricket World Cup final match in Ahmedabad while neglecting a visit to the violence-ridden state of Manipur.
Ramesh, in a post on [X], criticized the prime minister’s apparent priorities, stating, “PM found time to be at the stadium in Ahmedabad he got named after himself. From tomorrow, he’ll be back to abusing and defaming Congress in Rajasthan and Telangana. But still, he hasn’t found it fit and proper to visit Manipur that is still tense and suffering. His priorities are clear.”
The Congress leader’s comments underscore the ongoing tension and violence in Manipur, a northeastern state grappling with unrest since May. The Congress party has consistently targeted PM Modi and the BJP, holding them responsible for the precarious situation in the region.
