PM Modi Takes Stock of Air India Crash Near Ahmedabad

Following the Air India Boeing 787 crash near Meghani Nagar close to Ahmedabad airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally contacted Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu to review the situation.

The flight, AI171, carrying 242 passengers from Ahmedabad to London’s Gatwick Airport, crashed shortly after takeoff. The Civil Aviation Minister informed the Prime Minister that he is rushing to Ahmedabad to oversee rescue and relief operations.

The Prime Minister directed that all necessary support be provided immediately and requested regular updates on the rescue efforts.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that all relevant agencies are on high alert and coordinated efforts are ongoing. Air India stated it is investigating the incident and will release more details soon.
