A police constable was arrested after allegedly being found in possession of heroin in the Alochi Bagh area of Srinagar.
According to officials, the arrest was made following specific information received by the police. During the operation, the accused was apprehended and heroin was reportedly recovered from his possession.
Accused Identified as PCR Kashmir Personnel
The arrested constable has been identified as Asif Rehman Reshi, son of Abdul Rehman Reshi and a resident of Bonpora, Batamaloo.
A senior police official said that Reshi was already under suspension at the time of his arrest and was posted with PCR Kashmir.
Investigation Underway
Police officials said further investigation is underway to determine the source of the narcotics and whether there are any links to a larger drug network.
