A case of alleged bulldozer action has come to light from Chhidi village in the Bara tehsil area of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where a Dalit woman has accused the local administration of demolishing her house without any prior notice.

The woman, identified as Mala Devi, has termed the action illegal and unconstitutional and has demanded a fair investigation along with strict action against those responsible.

Family Claims Generational Residence on Disputed Land

Mala Devi said her family has been living for several generations in a semi-pucca house built on plot number 1014, which is recorded as barren land in official records.

She claimed that the family has been residing there for years and was not given any warning or opportunity to present their side before the demolition.

Allegation of Bulldozer Action Without Notice

According to the complaint, the action was carried out after a complaint by the village head. Mala Devi alleged that revenue officials, along with police personnel and a bulldozer team, arrived at the spot and demolished her house.

She said, “The administration did not give us any notice before the action, nor did they allow us to present our side. Our house was demolished without following due legal process.”

Following the demolition, the family said they have been left without shelter.

Complaint Raised in Public Hearing

Mala Devi also said she had raised the matter during the “Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas” (public grievance redressal day) held on June 20, seeking justice. However, she alleged that no effective action was taken on her complaint before the demolition took place.

Demand for Investigation and Compensation

The affected family has demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the incident. They have also called for action against officials if any procedural violations are found.

In addition, the family has sought compensation and proper rehabilitation, stating that they have been left homeless due to the demolition.
