Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the NEET UG 2026 examination, accusing the Centre of failing to stop repeated malpractice in competitive exams.
In a post on X, she said, “The rampant corruption in exams over the past several years under the BJP rule is robbing the country’s youth of their future. This time too, the future of nearly 23 lakh students has been tampered with.”
She further added, “Children toil with all their might for exams like NEET. Parents stake everything they have so that their children’s future can be secured. But every exam falls prey to corruption. What’s the use of the so-called stringent law brought in Parliament against paper leaks if the same corruption continues on the ground?”
Priyanka Gandhi also questioned accountability, saying, “The Prime Minister is accountable to the country’s youth. How long will this cycle of ruining the youth’s future go on?”
NEET UG 2026 Under Scanner After Alleged Irregularities
Her remarks come amid growing controversy around NEET UG 2026, where multiple reports have suggested possible malpractice, including a suspected “guess paper” circulation before the exam that allegedly matched a large number of questions in the final paper.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already acknowledged awareness of the matter and said it is cooperating with investigating agencies. It maintained that the exam conducted on May 3 was held “under full security protocol” and that inputs about alleged malpractice were forwarded for verification.
Investigation and “Guess Paper” Claims
According to ongoing investigations by Rajasthan police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), a handwritten question set reportedly circulated before the exam contained a large number of questions similar to the actual NEET paper.
Officials are examining whether this was a highly accurate prediction set or part of an organised leak network. Authorities have also questioned several suspects linked to coaching centres and student networks, especially in Rajasthan.
Government Response and Security Claims
The NTA has defended the exam process, stating that multiple security layers were used, including GPS-tracked transport of question papers, AI-based CCTV monitoring, biometric verification, and deployment of mobile signal jammers at exam centres.
It said, “The examination proceeded as planned across all centres on the day,” and added that law enforcement agencies are now handling the investigation.
Political Battle Intensifies Over NEET Controversy
The allegations have triggered a fresh political debate over exam integrity and student welfare. Opposition leaders argue that repeated controversies are damaging trust in national entrance exams, while the government has maintained that investigations are ongoing and no conclusions should be drawn prematurely.
Students and Parents in Anxiety
With over 20 lakh aspirants appearing for NEET each year, the allegations have created anxiety among students and parents who depend heavily on the fairness of the examination system for medical admissions.
