The District Magistrate of Sambhal, Rajender Pensiya, has prohibited the open or public slaughter of animals during Eid and directed religious leaders to conclude sacrificial rituals by 3 pm between June 7 and June 9.

Under the new restrictions, animal sacrifice will only be permitted at 19 pre-identified sites across the district. Pensiya warned that any attempts to disrupt public order would face strict legal action.

“All stakeholders were consulted. Sacrifices will be allowed only at the designated sites. No public or open spaces will be used for animal sacrifice,” he said.

The administration has also committed to ensuring proper management of water, electricity, and sanitation during Eid prayers. Religious leaders were cautioned against uploading videos of slaughter or sacrifice on social media.

A peace meeting was held with leaders from all regions where Eid prayers will take place to discuss and finalize these precautionary measures.

Pensiya further stated that preventive actions have been imposed on approximately 900-950 individuals to maintain peace and order.

“Any attempt to breach the peace will be met with strict legal action,” he warned.
