In Pune’s Kondhwa area, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man posing as a courier delivery boy on Wednesday evening. The accused reportedly sprayed an unknown substance on the victim’s face before committing the assault.
The suspect entered the residential society around 7:30 pm claiming to deliver a courier. “When the woman said she wasn’t expecting any delivery, he insisted a signature was required,” police sources revealed. As the victim went inside to fetch her PIN, the attacker locked the door behind her.
After the assault, the accused took a selfie on the victim’s phone with a threatening message: “I’ll be back.” The woman remained unconscious following the attack. Forensic teams are examining whether she was drugged.
Pune’s Zone 5 DCP Rajkumar Shinde confirmed: “We’ve registered a case under BNS sections 64, 77 and 351(2). Ten police teams are working on this case, including forensic analysis of the crime scene and the suspect’s selfie.
In a separate incident near Daund, a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by two bike-borne men early Monday morning. The attackers threatened the car occupants with weapons before robbing them and assaulting the minor.
