Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is currently making headlines after claiming that he believes in Sanatana Dharma. In one of his latest interviews, Ranbir said he expresses his gratitude to God every day and that he has delved deeply into Sanatana Dharma in recent years. However, he faced brutal trolling from netizens for his comment.
During Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, Ranbir said, “I have started believing deeply in Sanatana Dharma. I have been reading extensively about it in the past few years, exploring its principles. Whether you believe in it or not is a personal choice.”
Soon after the video emerged, netizens reminded him of a previous interview in which he had claimed to consume beef. Others speculated that he was making these comments as a promotional tactic for his upcoming film, in which he will portray Lord Ram.
Reacting to the video, one user commented on X, “I hope this is genuine and not just a façade for his Ramayan film.”
Another user wrote, “It is so insulting that this self-proclaimed beef eater is discussing Sanatana Dharma. He suddenly started reading books, chanting mantras, practicing yoga…. No one is buying this nonsense.”
“He is only trying to recover from the backlash he received from Sanatanis through this PR move… But if he is truly transforming, we should accept him,” read another comment.
“No, he doesn’t believe in Sanatana Dharma. If he did, he wouldn’t have advocated for beef. He is saying all of this to promote his new movie, where he plays Ram,” wrote another user.
Another comment read, “From ‘I love beef’ to ‘I believe in Sanatana Dharma,’ which movie is he promoting now???”
In October 2023, it was reported that Ranbir has quit alcohol and meat for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming project, Ramayan.
Meanwhile, in terms of his work, Ranbir was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. His upcoming projects include Ramayan with Sai Pallavi and Love And War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in which he will star alongside his wife Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
