A six-year-old girl was gang raped by three boys in Delhi’s Bhajanpura area last week. Police said the accused boys, aged 10, 13, and 14, lured the child with food before assaulting her in an empty building. Two of the boys have been apprehended, while the third remains missing.
The victim returned home on January 18, bleeding and unconscious. Her mother said, “She told me she fell, but later she shared the truth.” The girl revealed that the boys, who were her neighbours, offered her chowmein, took her to a nearby building, tied her hands, and raped her.
The family rushed her to the hospital, where doctors confirmed the assault. She is now recovering at home but remains bedridden. “She bleeds if she tries to walk,” her mother explained.
Police have collected forensic evidence from the crime scene. The two younger boys were presented before the Child Welfare Committee. The victim’s father, a rickshaw puller, demanded severe punishment. “If they understood their crime, they should be tried as adults,” he said.
The case has triggered protests in the area, with demonstrators blocking a road to demand the arrest of the third accused. The victim’s mother believes the missing boy may have fled to his native village in Bihar.
All three accused were friends of the family’s late son, who died last year. The father has stopped working due to fear for his daughters’ safety. The investigation continues as police search for the third suspect.
