Sri Ram Sene Organises Arms Training Camp In Karnataka’s Bagalkot; Police Investigation Underway

The Shri Ram Saini, an extremist group affiliated with the RSS recently organised a training camp in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district from December 25 to 29.

The event was held in Thodalbhaagi village of Jamkhandi City. Photos and videos show boys given arms training and other physical training raising serious questions about the intentions behind the organisation.

According to the organisers, all of this was done to teach “self-defence” to the participants.

Speaking to the media, one of the organisers claimed, “They were given training in wielding swords. They were taught karate, opticals, airguns etc to help them be able to defend themselves.”

The Bagalkot Superintendent of Police, Amarnath Reddy stated that an investigation has been launched to examine the entire matter carefully. “We are investigating the type of arms that were used during this event and action will be taken against them if any illegal activity is confirmed after the investigation,” he said.

Pramod Muthalik, chief of Shri Ram Sene, announced earlier in 2021 that the organisation plans to hold physical training camps, yoga karate camps, and stick fighting training.

A similar training camp was organised by Bajrang Dal 2 years ago at a school in Madikeri of Kodagu district. The organisers gave the training in air guns and tridents.
