Veteran BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has once again stirred controversy by accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of betraying the nation. Swamy’s allegations come amidst the backdrop of the ongoing border tensions with China.

In a series of tweets, Swamy targeted PM Modi, stating, “Modi has betrayed Bharat Mata by saying ‘koyi aaya nahin,’ giving a clean chit to the Chinese who by now have grabbed 4065 sq kms of Ladakh land.” Swamy further said, “Modi should not return to LS to be PM,” adding that the Prime Minister must not seek a third term in the Lok Sabha.

Swamy’s criticism didn’t stop there. He urged the nation to oppose Modi’s candidacy for a third term as Prime Minister, claiming that Modi had let down the country by allowing China free access to swallow Indian territory. He accused Modi of knowingly lying about the situation along the border.

Earlier, Swamy had also targeted Modi over the release of eight former Indian Navy personnel detained in Qatar. Swamy alleged that Modi sought the intervention of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan to secure an expensive settlement from the Qatari authorities.

Meanwhile, BJP has announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with PM Modi set to contest from the Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Modi has been representing Varanasi since 2014.
