A school teacher in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district has been booked for allegedly sexually assaulting a Dalit student in Class 9.

The accused reportedly used intimidation to silence the victim, threatening her with dire consequences if she dared to report the abuse to anyone.

Trigun Bisen, the Superintendent of Police (rural) in Mathura, confirmed the details of the case, stating, “On the basis of CCTV footage available and the complaint lodged, a case has been registered under section 376 (sexual assault), 504 (provocation), and 506 (criminal intimidation), as well as under provisions of the POCSO Act and SC/ST Act at Kosi Kalan police station in Mathura district.”

The accused, who is identified as an ad-hoc teacher hailing from the same village as the victim, has been on the run since the day of the crime.

The incident occurred on November 6, and a complaint was lodged the following day.

Police teams are actively pursuing the accused in an effort to bring him to justice.
