‘Stopped, Asked Identity, Then Attacked’: Victim’s Account
According to Abdul Mateen, he had gone to Sekiua village to attend a wedding-related feast at his fiancée’s house. While returning around 11 pm, he was allegedly stopped near the village by a group of men who first questioned his identity and then launched a violent attack.
“They first asked my name and address, and then started beating me mercilessly,” the victim alleged.
He further claimed that the attackers, identified as Siraj, Rafiq, Sonu, Abrar and others, surrounded him, stripped him, and assaulted him severely.
“They undressed me and beat me on private parts and other parts of my body. They also tried to kill me,” Mateen said.
The victim added that he somehow managed to escape after locals intervened and stopped the assault.
Video Sparks Outrage, Allegations of Police Inaction
A video of the incident has gone viral, triggering widespread anger and demands for strict action against the accused. The victim has also alleged that despite filing a complaint at Dumariyaganj police station, no effective action has been taken so far.
“They are roaming freely and threatening to kill me,” Mateen claimed, urging senior police officials to intervene and ensure his safety.
He has demanded immediate arrest of the accused and protection for himself and his family.

Police, however, have denied allegations of inaction. Officials from Dumariyaganj police station stated that a complaint has been received and an FIR has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the law.
“We have registered a case and investigation is underway,” a police official said, adding that appropriate legal action will be taken.
