Late Monday night in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, Mohammad Ubaidullah, an Arabic tutor, was attacked by a group of men while returning home after a tutoring session. The assailants, believed to be in their 20s and 30s, stopped his motorbike and attacked him.

“They surrounded me, called me ‘Kathmulla’ and ‘Pakistani.’ One of them pointed a pistol at me. They dragged me to the ground, kicked me, hurled abuses, and punched me in the eye, leaving it bruised. Somehow, I managed to escape, leaving my bike behind,” Ubaidullah told The Observer Post.

Despite filing a complaint soon after the attack, Ubaidullah claims no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet. He further alleged that his request for CCTV footage from the area was denied.

“I am a law-abiding, peace-loving citizen. I have never experienced anything like this before. My sentiments are deeply hurt by the unruly behavior of these men. I teach, and this is not the example I want to be set for the coming generation,” he stated in his complaint.

As of now, the police is yet to take any formal action, leaving Ubaidullah seeking justice and answers.
