“Treated Like an Animal”: Muslim Man Tied, Brutally Beaten Over Parking Dispute in Kushinagar

Mob lynching

In Kubera Bhual Patti village of Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim man was tied with ropes and brutally beaten after a dispute over parking turned violent.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Vishnupura police station. According to reports, the clash began when a resident named Ritesh asked Azharuddin to remove his pickup vehicle from the road. The argument escalated, and during the scuffle, Azharuddin allegedly stabbed Ritesh.

Soon after, relatives and friends of Ritesh surrounded Azharuddin, tied him with ropes, and thrashed him mercilessly. A video of the assault has gone viral, sparking fear among locals. Witnesses said that even when Ritesh’s mother pleaded with the mob to stop, they continued the beating, ignoring her requests.

Residents described the attack as “inhuman,” saying Azharuddin was treated “like an animal.” Many have demanded justice and strict punishment for the attackers.

Police acknowledged that the situation worsened because the men belonged to different communities. Rajeev Singh, a police official, said, “We are investigating and action will soon be taken against the culprits.”

Azharuddin’s family remains in shock after the assault, while Muslim groups and activists have come forward in support. The Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind condemned the attack, demanding immediate arrests. A spokesperson of the group said, “The police must act now and ensure that equality before the law is applied to all. Otherwise, it is an encouragement to the mobs.”
