On January 4, Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, will present a Chadar sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Dargah Sharif of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, marking the annual tradition during the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
Rijiju’s schedule includes his arrival at Jaipur airport at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a road journey to Ajmer. The chadar offering ceremony is set to take place at 11 a.m. at the Ajmer Dargah Sharif.
During the visit, Rijiju will also launch the new web portal and the ‘Garib Nawaz’ mobile app for the Dargah Sharif. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing convenience for devotees. The web portal will provide comprehensive information about Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s life and teachings, facilities at the Dargah, and online guesthouse bookings. A key feature is the live darshan facility, allowing devotees worldwide to access live telecasts of events at the Dargah Sharif. The app, designed for devotees, will complement the portal by offering accessible and user-friendly services.
Rijiju will release the Urs Manual, which outlines the historical background, traditions, and logistical arrangements for the Urs. The manual aims to ensure smooth coordination between the Union Minority Affairs Ministry, the Dargah Committee, and district authorities.
