A Dalit woman from Narayanpur village in Aligarh’s Kotwali area has accused five people, including a retired army soldier now serving in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) in Agra, of assault, molestation, and threats under the SC/ST Act.

The woman, belonging to the Valmiki community, said her family is being harassed and pressured to leave the village. She alleged that her mother-in-law had purchased a plot and built a house, but tensions began when some influential villagers tried to construct a passage by placing shutters near her house gate, despite having another route available.

The woman accused Yogendra Singh, a retired soldier, of repeated harassment. “He has beaten me and molested me several times. He often peeps into my house without shame. On March 8, when I went to cut fodder in the forest, he tried to drag me into a field with the intention of raping me. I screamed, and nearby farmers rushed to help. He fled, threatening to kill me,” she said in her complaint.

She further alleged that when her husband opposed the harassment, Yogendra Singh and his son Dushyant attacked him. “They barged into our house with a pistol and a gun, beat my husband, and threatened to kill us,” she said.

Kotwali police confirmed that a case has been filed against five accused, Yogendra Singh, Dushyant, Anita, Aarti, and Shivcharan, on her complaint. Investigating officers said they are probing the allegations and gathering evidence.
