Ajay Sharma, a primary school teacher, brutally thrashed a 5th grade student for not doing homework on December 7. When brother of the victim reached institution to sort-out the matter, the teacher attacked him with a sharp knife. The incident took place under Subaha police station of Tikurhuwa area in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.

As per reports, the brother escaped and walked away to save his head. A video of the mishap also went viral on social media.

From Verbal Abuse To Attack

When the minor student, a Muslim girl, reached home with injuries on face and described the incident, her parents were outraged. Her brother Shakeel approached Ajay Sharma and asked him to “behave with modesty”. He said that the school management is not allowed to slap children even if they make mistakes or refuse to follow certain instructions.

“You are a teacher here and you should not raise hands on students without any reason! You are not permitted to beat our children whether you teach them or not! You must rather contact me!” Shakeel told the teacher.

In response, Ajay questioned his concerns while threatening him in abusive language.

“Don’t think that I can’t answer!,” Ajay Sharma responded.

The dispute flared up when the teacher used derogatory terms and slurs. Shakeel, along with a bunch of villagers and a group of staff, was criticising the incident when Ajay took out his knife and attacked him.

Shakeel ran and saved himself while the crowd kept arguing in the background.

“Mutual Settlements” After Attacks

As the matter worsened, some villagers also intervened with open-favoritisms towards the attacker, and imposed a “mutual settlement” on Shakeel.

A police official said that the administration asked them to file a FIR, but villagers denied it. They were trying to solve the issue via alleged agreement. At the end, police took suo-moto action and registered the case.
