A school principal in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut has been accused of assaulting a 13-year-old Dalit student, allegedly breaking bones in her hand at two places. The student’s father has also accused the principal of refusing to arrange treatment and making casteist remarks.
The incident reportedly took place on the 6th at CRK High School in Rasulpur Aurangabad village, under the Bhawanpur police station area.
The girl’s father, Aadesh, alleged that the school’s principal, Afsa Rani, beat his daughter, leaving her with fractures in her hand. He claimed that although the principal initially agreed to arrange medical treatment, she later refused, citing the girl’s Dalit identity.
According to the father, the child could not receive treatment in Meerut.
Aadesh filed a complaint at the Bhawanpur police station on the 19th, seeking action against the principal.
Police Investigating the Allegations
Bhawanpur Station House Officer Pratap Singh confirmed that the police had received the complaint and said the matter was being investigated.
Principal Afsa Rani has denied the allegations, describing them as a conspiracy against her.
