Days after the violent Holi-eve clash in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar that left one man dead and triggered protests and demolition action, the family of the accused has raised fresh allegations — claiming that a 14-year-old boy injured during the altercation has been missing since he was taken from a hospital under unclear circumstances.
The boy, identified by the family as Rizwan, is related to Shahin Rangrez Chouhan, who earlier told The Observer Post that her relatives were falsely implicated in the death of 23-year-old Tarun during the neighbourhood clash.
According to the family, Rizwan was seriously injured during the confrontation and collapsed after being struck multiple times on the head.
They allege that while he was receiving treatment, he was taken away by unidentified individuals and that his whereabouts remain unknown.
The claims, however, could not be independently verified at the time of publication, and authorities have not publicly confirmed the boy’s status.
Allegation of Severe Head Injuries During Clash
Family members allege that Rizwan was attacked during the altercation that broke out between two groups on the night of Holi.
According to Shahin, the boy sustained severe head injuries after being struck with an iron rod.
“Tarun hit Rizwan several times on the head with an iron rod,” she alleged. “After that he collapsed and started having seizures.”
Relatives say Rizwan was initially taken to a nearby hospital but later shifted to a private facility due to lack of medical equipment.
They identified the hospital as World Brain Hospital on Dabri Road.
Allegation of Forced Discharge
The family claims that doctors at the hospital allegedly pressured them to discharge the injured minor during the early hours of the morning.
Shahin described the events as relayed to her by family members who accompanied Rizwan.
“At around 3 in the morning, the doctors told my aunt and grandmother to leave and said the child was fine,” she said. “But they told the doctors he was not well and they could not leave.”
According to Shahin, the women were then allegedly forced to sign hospital documents.
“They made them sign papers even though they were not educated and did not know what was written on them,” she said.
The Observer Post has not independently verified these claims or the circumstances surrounding the hospital discharge.
Claim That Boy Was Taken Away
The family further alleges that Rizwan was taken away after being discharged.
According to Shahin, her grandmother and aunt were told to follow a car after leaving the hospital.
She claims that after travelling a short distance, another vehicle arrived and the injured boy was transferred.
“They picked up my brother and threw him into another car like a sack,” she alleged.
Shahin said the women accompanying the boy were unable to follow the vehicle.
“They took him away and since then we have had no information about where he is,” she said.
Family Says Police Did Not Register Complaint
The family alleges that they approached a police station to report the incident but claim their complaint was not accepted.
“My grandmother went to the police station but they did not allow her to enter,” Shahin said. “They told her to go outside and said they would not register any report.”
The Observer Post could not independently verify this claim. There has been no official confirmation from authorities regarding the alleged disappearance.
Rumours Circulating About Boy’s Fate
According to the family, rumours about Rizwan’s death have been circulating in the neighbourhood and on social media.
However, they say they have received no official information confirming whether he is alive or dead.
“We just want to know where he is,” Shahin said. “If he is alive, let us see him. If something has happened to him, tell us the truth.”
The family has appealed to authorities to clarify Rizwan’s whereabouts and ensure his safety.
Background: Holi Clash and Ongoing Investigation
The development comes in the aftermath of the Holi-eve clash in Uttam Nagar, in which 23-year-old Tarun died after sustaining injuries during a confrontation between neighbours.
Police registered a murder case and arrested several members of Shahin’s extended family.
Following the incident, protests erupted in the area and security forces including the Rapid Action Force were deployed to maintain order, according to a report by The Wire.
Days later, the house of one of the accused families was demolished by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, as reported by The Indian Express.
Family Demands Clarification
For Shahin’s family, the alleged disappearance of the injured minor has added to their concerns.
They say they are seeking clarity from authorities about Rizwan’s location and condition.
“We just want justice and the truth,” Shahin said.
As of now, officials have not publicly responded to the family’s claims about the boy’s whereabouts.
However, the case has begun gaining traction on social media, where users are questioning the whereabouts of the injured boy.
Posts tagging Delhi Police and using the hashtag “WhereIsRizwan” have surfaced across platforms, with many urging authorities to clarify what happened to the 14-year-old after he was reportedly taken from the hospital following the clash.
