The video showing Madhavi Latha, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, miming shooting an arrow at a mosque during a procession has sparked criticism from the Opposition. The incident, which reportedly occurred during a Ram Navami procession, has raised concerns about its potential to disrupt peace in the city.

Asaduddin Owaisi, the Member of Parliament for Hyderabad and the chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, condemned the BJP’s actions, alleging that they aimed to undermine peace in the city. Owaisi urged voters to be vigilant and make informed decisions, saying that such provocative actions would not be tolerated.

“The people of Hyderabad and Telangana have seen the BJP’s intentions,” he said. “I appeal to people to see what they are trying to do, and to use their votes wisely.”

In response, Madhavi Latha defended herself, stating that the circulated video was incomplete and intended to spread negativity. However, she also expressed regret if the video had hurt anyone’s sentiments, emphasizing her respect for all individuals.

Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj stated that he had not been made aware of the video, indicating that the matter had not yet been officially addressed.
