30-Year-Old Dalit Man Lynched In UP’s Muzaffarnagar On Suspicion Of Theft

A 30-year-old Dalit man was beaten to death by locals on suspicion of theft in Budhana town, Muzaffarnagar district, police said on Monday.

The victim, identified as Monu, was attacked on Sunday night. According to his family’s complaint, Monu managed to return home but later succumbed to his injuries.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal said, “No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty.”

Police are examining a video of the assault circulating on social media to identify those involved. Some people have already been detained for questioning.
