In a landmark achievement for Jamia Millia Islamia, 38 candidates from the university’s Residential Coaching Academy, run under the Centre for Coaching and Career Planning, have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, results for which were declared on Friday. Four of them have broken into the top 50 ranks nationally, securing All India Ranks 7, 14, 24 and 29, making them among the brightest performers in the country this year.
The successful candidates have qualified for positions across various All India and Central Services. Notably, 15 of the 38 successful candidates are women, a fact that the university highlighted as a reflection of its commitment to equity and inclusivity in nurturing the country’s administrative leadership.
Vice-Chancellor Hails It as a Proud Moment for JMI
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif congratulated all the successful candidates and praised the faculty and administrative staff for their dedicated contribution to the training process. “On behalf of the entire JMI fraternity, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our brilliant candidates who have done us proud. The extraordinary success of our RCA-trained students showcases JMI’s culture of hard work, perseverance, and determination, key ingredients for success in one of the country’s toughest examinations. Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi called the result an unprecedented achievement for the university. “It is a proud moment for the university given that an unprecedented number of students, especially women, have qualified for the coveted examination. My best wishes and congratulations to all the successful candidates who have turned their dreams into a reality and are a source of inspiration to the future aspirants who are training at JMI’s RCA,” he said, also thanking the teaching and non-teaching staff for their contribution to the success.

Prof. Samina Bano, Professor In-Charge of the Residential Coaching Academy, said she was overwhelmed by the results and attributed the success to the exceptional hard work of the students combined with the strong backing of the university administration. She specifically acknowledged the continuous guidance and unconditional support extended by the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar to the academy at every stage of its work.
