The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a significant lead in the Delhi Assembly election results, leading on 36 seats, as per early trends released by the Election Commission. If the trend continues, the BJP may break the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) decade-long dominance in the national capital.

According to the latest figures, BJP is leading in key constituencies, including Narela, Rithala, Bawana, Kirari, Shalimar Bagh, Tri Nagar, Ballimaran, Madipur, Rajouri Garden, Hari Nagar, Dwarka, Matiala, Najafgarh, Palam, Delhi Cantt, Kasturba Nagar, RK Puram, Chhatarpur, Sangam Vihar, Vishwas Nagar, Shahdara, Ghonda, Mustafabad, and Karawal Nagar.

The voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 was held on February 5, recording a total voter turnout of 60.39%. Mustafabad registered the highest turnout at 69%, while Karol Bagh recorded the lowest at 47.40%.

Exit polls on Wednesday had predicted a slight edge for the BJP over AAP, with Congress expected to remain a marginal player. While AAP is still hopeful of retaining power, BJP’s early lead signals a possible shift in Delhi’s political landscape.

The final results will determine whether Arvind Kejriwal secures a fourth term or if the BJP returns to power in Delhi after 27 years.
