Unidentified miscreants sprinkled saffron and gulal powder at the Armoor Eidgah in Telangana’s Nizamabad district during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on February 19. The miscreants also threw saffron scarves and badges on the premises before fleeing the scene.
Local AIMIM party workers took note of the situation and quickly informed the police. Upon inspection, officers assured that those responsible would be identified and action would be taken.
Residents reported that the miscreants entered the Eidgah grounds, reached the spot where the ‘Khateeb’ leads prayers, and deliberately scattered saffron powder on the walls. The local Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was alerted, and community elders met him to discuss the incident.
Following the incident, Eidgah committee members cleaned the site, removing all traces of saffron powder and badges. Meanwhile, authorities continue their investigation to trace the individuals behind the act.
The incident has raised concerns about attempts to stir communal tensions in the area. Police officials have urged residents to maintain peace while they investigate the matter.
