Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his anger on social media after his flight from Jammu to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur on Saturday night. The diversion, caused by bad weather, left him stranded at Jaipur airport past midnight.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Abdullah shared a selfie at 1 a.m. and didn’t hold back his frustration.

“Delhi airport is a bloody shit show (excuse my French, but I’m in no mood to be polite). 3 hours in the air after we left Jammu we get diverted to Jaipur & so here I am at 1 in the morning on the steps of the plane getting some fresh air,” he wrote. “I’ve no idea what time we will leave from here.”

The weather-related chaos wasn’t limited to just one flight. At Srinagar airport, at least six flights were cancelled on Saturday. Heavy rain and hailstorms across parts of the Kashmir Valley severely impacted air traffic.

In Jammu, the scene wasn’t much better. Passengers at the airport described chaotic conditions as several flights were delayed or cancelled, affecting their travel plans and connecting flights. Many shared their experiences on social media, showing crowds of stranded passengers waiting without clear information.

IndiGo Airlines responded on X, saying, “Our teams are monitoring the situation and will have smooth operations back on track as soon as the weather plays nice.”

Over the past 24 hours, several areas in Kashmir saw moderate to heavy rainfall, while some even reported hailstorms, worsening the situation for both air and road travelers.
