AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday condemned the abusive remarks allegedly made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during the INDIA bloc’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar’s Darbhanga.

Reacting to a viral video of the incident, Owaisi termed the language “inappropriate” and stressed the need for maintaining dignity in political debate. “One can oppose, criticise, and condemn, but crossing the limits of decency would be wrong. You can criticise the Prime Minister as much as you want, but it should be within the limits of decency. Crossing the limits will make the debate vulgar,” the Hyderabad MP told reporters.

Darbhanga Police later arrested Mohammad Rizvi alias Raja, a resident of Bhapura village in Singhwara, for allegedly using derogatory words from the stage. Meanwhile, the Congress distanced itself from the episode. Senior leader Rashid Alvi said the party “does not approve of such language” and condemned the act.

Separately, Owaisi criticised RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for what he described as imposing his “three-children theory.” Reacting to Bhagwat’s slogan “Hum Do, Humaare Teen,” the AIMIM leader accused the RSS of interfering in private lives and spreading myths about Muslim population growth.

“The RSS, since its inception, has been spreading the false notion that the growing Muslim population will overtake the Hindu population. Even the Prime Minister, in his Parliament speech last year, blamed Muslims for the rise in population. This is false,” Owaisi said, pointing out that the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) among Muslims has declined faster than any other community.

On the issue of alleged illegal infiltration from Bangladesh, Owaisi questioned why the Modi government had not acted against Border Security Force (BSF) officers. “Did the Prime Minister raise the issue even once when Bangladeshis removed their leader through a popular revolution? Why were no BSF officers suspended for allowing Bangladeshis to enter India?” he asked, demanding the government disclose how many Bangladeshis entered India between 2014 and 2024.
