Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after he complained of breathlessness. On Tuesday morning, social media was flooded with false reports claiming the actor had passed away. However, his daughter, actress Esha Deol, has confirmed that Dharmendra is alive, stable, and recovering.

Esha took to Instagram to dismiss the rumours, writing, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for Papa’s speedy recovery.”

Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh mistakenly posted a condolence message on X (formerly Twitter), expressing grief over Dharmendra’s “demise.” The tweet read, “Deeply saddened by the demise of veteran actor and former MP Shri Dharmendra ji. A versatile actor who brought life to many memorable characters with his unmatched charm and sincerity. His remarkable contribution to Indian cinema will always be remembered.”

Later, Dharmendra’s family and team clarified that the reports were untrue. In an official statement, his team said, “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”

The 89-year-old actor, known for classics like Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, and Chupke Chupke, continues to be one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved figures.
