The National Investigation Agency on Thursday said it has arrested four more main accused in the Delhi blast case, bringing the total number of arrests to six.
In a statement shared with Kashmir News Observer, the agency said the four were taken into custody in Srinagar on the orders of the District Sessions Judge at Patiala House Court.
The NIA identified the accused as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag, Dr Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian. According to the agency, all four played important roles in the terror attack that killed several people and left many others injured.
The NIA said it had earlier arrested two men. The first is Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered. The second is Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, who allegedly provided technical support to the terrorist involved in the attack.
The interrogation of the accused is continuing as the agency works to uncover the full conspiracy behind the attack, which is registered as case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.
The NIA said it took over the investigation soon after the blast on the orders of the Home Ministry. It added that it is working with police in different states to trace and arrest every member of the group involved in the attack.
