Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday said that merely raising slogans for gau raksha will not help unless seers and Shankaracharyas take responsibility and actively start rearing cows.

Speaking to reporters after a yoga session in Panaji, Ramdev said cow protection must be done with sincerity and honesty. He said organising conferences, shouting slogans, or engaging in violence in the name of cows will not achieve the goal of gau raksha.

“Today, Patanjali protects one lakh cows. Every Shankaracharya should also take responsibility for protecting the mother cow. Will cow protection be achieved simply by abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi?” Ramdev said, without giving further details.

He added that Prime Minister Modi envisions India as a global hub for health and a centre of Sanatan wisdom.

Ramdev said efforts are being made to promote Goa as a destination for health, wellness, and spiritual tourism. He said people should visit Goa for self healing and self realisation, calling the state a beautiful and spiritually rich place.

“People should come here for sustainable health. Goa has immense potential in wellness and spirituality,” he said.

The yoga guru also announced that Patanjali will set up its largest wellness centre in Goa with the support of the state government.
