Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to B. R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, highlighting his enduring role in shaping modern India.
Modi said Ambedkar’s contributions to nation building continue to inspire generations and guide the country towards a just, inclusive and progressive society. He added that Ambedkar’s life and ideals remain a constant source of motivation for citizens.
Sharing a Sanskrit verse, the Prime Minister invoked the idea of universal brotherhood, emphasising the value of collective progress and unity.
Calls Ambedkar a guiding force for the nation
In his message, Modi described Ambedkar’s personality and work as a lasting inspiration for India’s development. He said Babasaheb’s vision continues to influence the country’s democratic and social framework.
Reiterates commitment to women’s reservation
Separately, Modi shared a letter addressed to “Nari Shakti,” reaffirming his government’s commitment to implementing women’s reservation in legislative bodies.
He noted that women across the country have welcomed the decision to ensure reservation in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies starting from 2029. The Prime Minister said the move fulfils a long-pending commitment and reflects the government’s focus on women’s empowerment.
Outreach to women across the country
In his message, Modi said mothers, sisters and daughters across India are appreciating the initiative. He added that the government remains committed to translating this promise into reality at the earliest.
The announcement comes amid continued political focus on representation and gender inclusion in India’s legislative institutions.
